Global Runway
Global Runway is a concept which was created in response to the ever-growing fashion season and the COVID-19 pandemic. This resulted in global travel restrictions, leading industry professionals to reflect on the purpose of the traditional fashion show. According to Odres, 241,000 tons of CO2 emission are generated annually by the fashion industry who travel to events during the fashion week circuits, the equivalent of lighting up Times Square for 58 years.

Global Runway combats the issue by hosting an annual international event which unites the fashion industry to one global destination. As the motto suggests ‘One World One Runway’ the organisation supports sustainability, inclusivity and culture.
The first event will be held in Tbilisi in 2025. For two weeks Global Runway will host events across the city in amazing architectural locations such as the Stamba Hotel, Tbilisi’s Old Town as well as the Rhike Park. Each venue will combine well-known labels and emerging designers to create an equal platform for all participants.
A detailed manifesto has been produced which outlines the purpose of the event, Tbilisi culture and how the event will be marketed.
For those who are unable to attend the event, Global Runway will implement a digital strategy to engage with the fashionable audience. The two main platforms will be the Instagram page ‘@globalrunway’ and podcast ‘Runway Roundup’ which produces entertaining and educational content.
